The Director's Cut (Backstage Pass, Book 3) by Janice Thompson
The Director's Cut was a wonderful wrap up to the Backstage Pass series! The characters are heart warming, the story is engaging & you will find yourself sad to hit the last page & say goodbye.
Thompson does a wonderful job of weaving in truth, faith, love & humor! Tia & Jason's story takes you through the ups & downs of life all the while pointing us to trust & rest in the One who is in control. There is also the added bonus of Brock Benson's love story thrown in here too!

Full Disclosure by Dee Henderson
Let me start off with this... This book captured and held my attention! Now, let me say I am a little conflicted as to what to write about it. The story lures you in and if you are looking for a good book about cops, FBI and so on with a little love story mixed in then pick this one up!
My conflict comes in, I guess, because the back says its a love story. But for me it wasn't really a love story or a romantic type book. Granted there is said guy who meets and pursues said girl but it wasn't my notion of a love story. It was written a little differently. More punchy and mostly from a guy's perspective and a FBI agent at that. So in that I think she did a great job of viewing things through his eyes. Our heroine in this story is someone who makes it hard for people to really get to know her. As that is the case, it is also hard for the reader to get to know her too. So maybe that is part of my issue. But all said and done, I enjoyed the book and I found it hard to put down. Henderson creatively wove threads of faith, love and encouragement into this novel as well. Overall, well done!

Sovereign (The Books of Mortals Series, Book 3) by Ted Dekker & Tosca Lee
Sovereign, Book 3 in this series will grab you and take you on a fast paced, suspense filled ride that barely leaves you time to catch your breath! For fans of this series or of Dekker and Lee's writing this will be a must read.
I have to say that the characters frustrate you at times but that is to the authors credit. The characters live large and play out so many of our own insecurities and faults. When I did put it down to go to sleep last night it still kept me up thinking on the story and the symbolism found within. The story within the story that points to what is real and what we so often miss at times. What is the Christian life really all about... is it our allegiance to a certain group or to a Person? Is it about being right or about love? On and on... Some good food for thought!
Pick this one up and be prepared to grip the book and sit on the edge of your seat!

The Fairest Beauty by Melanie Dickerson
I just happened to stumble across this novel by Melanie Dickerson and I am delighted that I did! If you're interested in a different take on "Snow White" then this would interest you.
From start to finish I found myself captivated, intrigued and at times holding my breath to see how she would work it all out. She artfully wove faith, love and truth into this tale, complete with a "fairytale" ending. Romance, faith, suspense and more, certainly makes for a great read!
I look forward to reading more of Dickerson's novels!

Take a Chance on Me by Susan May Warren
This is a story worth taking a chance on (wink, wink)... Warren wove a captivating, intriguing, and encouraging tale. Her characters & their story draw you in and make it hard for you to put this one down. I can't wait to read more of the Christiansen Family novels!

A Light in the Window by Julie Lessman
For fans of Lessman's Daughters of Boston Series this is a must read! A Light in the Window is the prequel that tells us how Mr. & Mrs. O'Connor met and fell in love. I was completely delighted and enthralled with their story! Lessman knows how to weave a tale of romance and faith so beautifully. I am not a big novella (short story) person but this one is absolutely worth the read! (When I purchased this book it was only available as an e-book).

Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz
This is one of those stories that lingers with you long after you have laid the book down. Another captivating & suspense filled read! Frantz has a way of carrying you into another time & place; making you feel as if the characters are living and breathing. Many times you will find your self hurrying through the pages & holding your breath!
I recognized several names that tied in with her book the Frontiersman's Daughter & wanted to go back & look up bits & pieces from said book but since I borrowed it from the library I could not. So maybe read them back to back if you can but you certainly don't have too!
Great read!

A NOBLE GROOM by Jody Hedlund
Gripping, engaging and a very pleasurable read! Hedlund's most recent novel is another winner for sure. Just as the back cover says, she truly is gifted at blending romance and drama, but not just that she engages us in another time and place. I come away feeling as if I have learned something. Hedlund has found a devoted reader in me. I eagerly await her next novel, which appears to be due in September!

ANYTHING the prayer that unlocked my God and my Soul by Jennie Allen
Thank you God for inspiring Jennie (as I now fondly think of her) to write this book! Lord you are so good and gracious to us and you have so much more for us than we can imagine! May we look to you and may we see that you are our everything and may we live lives full of love for you, so much so that we will do anything for your glory.
What can I say except that I highly recommend you read this book! As much as I know I should write Allen, I come away finding it hard to do so as you come to view Jennie through her writing as a friend. Her writing style is conversational and it flows so well. I picked this book up and had no problem turning page after page, eager to read more. She hit home with a lot of what she said (at least for me). She is real, honest, open and you can just picture her sitting across a table from you inviting you to share in her story. This book is interesting, encouraging and provoking.
There are a few typos early on but just overlook them and know that the content is so much more important and powerful. Open yourself up to God and what He wants to say to you through this book and do in your heart and life.

IT HAPPENED AT THE FAIR by DEEANNE GIST
Gist completely enthralled and delighted me with her tale! I find all the history she plugged in about the 1893 Chicago World's Fair absolutely fascinating. I can enviously imagine what it would have been like to be there. Her characters were wonderful and heartwarming and I loved the sweetness of their relationship.
Be sure to add this to your reading list and be prepared to fly through it!

Unending Devotion by Jody Hedlund
Hedlund has written another winner! She absolutely captivated me from the beginning of the story until the last page. Unending Devotion is a story about standing up for what is right, fighting the good fight, being open to what God has for you to do and helping those who are in need. She tackles both what we call modern day slavery or forced prostitution, as well as a look at how we can also rape and destroy the land. This book of fiction is also based off of true life occurrences, as are her previous novels. Even though this is a historical book, the subject matters are ones that we are still dealing with today and are very relevant causes to take up and find our part to play in helping in whatever way God would have us. If your interested in one organization that I know of that is related to this topic check out Abolition International.
Hedlund's characters and story, the romance and intrigue found within are all sure to keep the pages turning, making it terribly hard to put this book down.
Be sure to read this one!
