I confess...

Okay, I have been meaning to fess up for a while but for those of you who follow my blog this may come as no surprise!  I love reading a series, one book followed by the next.  Saying this I have to confess that I have some books that I pre-ordered, have received and are waiting to be read on my special, to be read book shelf... Sometimes it's really hard to wait and I break down and read it... Like right now I am so eager to read Julie Lessman's newest book and Lisa T. Bergren's 2nd book in her series.  But I am waiting... waiting, waiting... Seeing as Lessman's series has just begun and you don't really have to read them back to back, I estimate my wait time is getting shorter... and you will probably see me posting on it in the not too distant future (a little closer to Book 2's release)!  However, since Bergren's is a continuing story... we will see how long I can hold out!

Yes, I am a little book crazy!

Another wonderful novel in the Team Hope series.  The conclusion left me with a smile on my face and a longing for the series to continue... After all it isn't like she has written Conner's story yet! If she has and I am missing out, someone please let me know!

Expect the Sunrise is filled with adventure, intrigue, suspense, romance and of course faith! The theme of God desiring to be our rescuer, the One we turn to and trust... When we seem overwhelmed and things are way beyond our ability trust Him, turn to Him and let Him rescue you!

Thank you Susan May Warren for using your gifts to bless us with this series and so many other wonderful stories!  Yes, God can and does use fiction to impart truth!

Warren has done it again... Escape to Morning is sure to thrill you and keep the pages turning long after you should have turned out the lights!  Suspense, intrigue, faith, love, hope, trust, romance and more abound in this novel.  I loved the scripture readings and theme Warren wove into this tale.  Your heart swells as you dive into the story where these characters seem real and you don't seem to be able to turn the pages quickly enough. Watching not only friendship and love blossom but also trust and faith.  Dani and Will both learn to look to God to be their portion, to give Him each day and trust Him not only with their future and present but also with their past.

Wonderful!

Warren hooked me from the beginning and kept me speeding through the pages... Thrilling, suspenseful, romantic... all the way around a great story!  I found the characters, both the main and secondary, to be so well written and real.

Truth, love, forgiveness, sacrifice and faith were intricately and artfully woven through out the book.  Touching on themes of the prodigal, surrendering and stepping out in faith, free will & God's sovereignty, and on and on... Some really good stuff captured in a story that could be brought to the screen.

I breezed through this one in short time and I am eager to read more in the Team Hope series.  I look forward to seeing the secondary characters' stories come to life!

Waiting for Dawn: A Team Hope Novella by Susan May Warren

Waiting for Dawn is the prequel to Flee the Night, Book 1 in the Team Hope series.  I zipped through this novella by Warren.  It definitely left me eager to read Flee the Night. Warren has created characters that come to life and a story that will keep the pages turning! Obviously this book is just a short taste of what is to come in Book 1 but I found that it was just enough back ground story to get you intrigued and of course an ending that really is only the beginning!

my stubborn heart by Becky Wade

Oh, I loved this novel!  I have to agree completely with the quote from Deeanne Gist on the back cover.  The characters, their story, struggles & romance are a beautiful portrait of life and love.  There are several life lessons, faith lessons tucked away in this one.  Things that will both hit home with you and things that will give you something to reflect on.

I found myself completely absorbed in this book, falling in love with the main & secondary characters... Cheering for them, grieving with them and engrossed until the last page, all the while dreading it coming to an end.  I can quiet easily say that I recommend reading this one!

Undeniably Yours (A Porter Family Novel, Book 1) By Becky Wade

From Back Cover:  When Meg Cole's father dies unexpectedly, she's forced to return home to Texas and to Whispering Creek Ranch to take up the reins of his empire. The last thing she has the patience or the sanity to deal with? Her father's Thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives its manager, Bo Porter, six months to close the place down.

Bo knows he ought to resent the woman who's determined to take from him the only job he ever wanted. But instead of anger, Meg evokes within him a profound desire to protect. The more time he spends with her, the more he longs to overcome every obstacle that separates them and earn her love.

Just when Meg realizes she can no longer deny the depth of her feelings for Bo, their fragile bond is broken by a force from Meg's past. Can their relationship--and their belief that God can work through every circumstance--survive?

________________________________

I started off liking this story and it only got better from there!  The characters are wonderful, their struggles and fears realistic and the romance was sweet and the cherry on top was the way the novel pointed to a deep, abiding trust in the One Who is always with you!  Add a dash of suspense and some laughs and you have a well rounded novel.

I loved how Wade had Bo exemplify several Christlike characteristics throughout the novel and tied it all in, having Meg realize in the story that it was Christ in him that was part of the huge pull and peace she felt with him.

I really look forward to reading more in the Porter Family Series!

This Time by Rachel Hauck

This Time was an engaging and romantic tale about love, forgiveness & grace.  Hauck captured my attention and held it, along with my emotions from the beginning.  I was truly sad to come to the last page but absolutely delighted with this book!  Hauck deftly wove romance and faith throughout and left me with a smile on my face and a happy heart!

Sweet Reading,

You Don't Know Me (a deep haven novel) by Susan May Warren

Warren traverses some thought provoking topics in this novel.  How lies are like cancer that eat away at us, harming us and our relationships. Truth is freedom!  She then moves on to topics like: What defines you, gives you your identity? God's grace, His amazing love... that even steeped in sin, He sees us, and loves us.  We can bring all our ugly to Him, it won't surprise Him and it will not change His love for us.

The relationships between husband & wife, parent and child are artfully and thoughtfully explored.  Drama with a splash of suspense added makes for a good read!

It Had to Be You (Weddings by Bella, Book 3) by Janice Thompson

Well, I have to admit that this story just didn't grab me as the previous ones did (in this series).  I will also admit that I ended up skimming through most of the story -eventually.

This seemed to be the book to tie up all the loose ends... As a result there really wasn't any big surprises.  Things turn out pretty much the way you expect.  There was a lot of recapping and really just more of the same stuff from the previous novels  with the exception that in this one everyone needed to find and/or marry their love interest.

It wasn't a bad read but it wasn't one that could hold my attention, I am sorry to say. I think I would have liked a little more depth and more with Bella & DJ and less of the rush to wrap up everyone else's love life.
