Green

I finally got around to reading Ted Dekker’s Green (Book Zero) … I have heard from other fans mixed feelings and in a way I agree. Green as many have said is much darker. And as advertised it is both the beginning and the end… However, I am not sure that it is really much of an end to the series in a way you are thrilled with. I have to say that part of me would rather have just left off with White as the ending.

Green took me about 11 chapters to get into, unlike the previous books where I was pretty much hooked early on. However, around ch. 11 or 12 I got really into it and was flipping the pages fast. Like the other books there is symbolism that will leave you thinking about you and your faith and such after you put the book down. In that regard I really enjoyed the book and how it makes you think/reflect and maybe in some ways help open your eyes to the evil and the good, to the internal and external struggles. As you urge the characters to faith and to remember – to believe … You look at your life and say remember what God has done, do not doubt Him now! Hold the faith.
