All I can say is WOW! Wow, what a great novel and a great series, I did not want it to end! This novel grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let up until the very last page. Seriously, I stayed up way too late last night (ahem, I mean early this morning), because I could NOT put it down. There was no great place to stop, where my mind wouldn't be spinning thinking about what was going on in this book. Bergren writes characters that grab your heart and a story that holds you in suspense; held captive by not only the characters, but their relationships and the high action drama. The romance is pretty steamy in a sweet romantic way (all clean). Without being preachy she weaves in threads of faith and helps us examine what it really means to LIVE! To live fully in the present, trusting God and not worrying about the past nor what is to come.
This is a YA novel but even as an adult I found it to be a fantastic read. I am so glad that there are books out there for YA readers that are not only clean reads but reads that cause you to look deeper at life, faith and love. I am so excited to know that there are two novellas left to read, because I am so not ready to say goodbye to this cast of characters!
